Attacks by “hacktivists” on power plants in Ukraine and the USA, hacking of journalists working “on Russia (*aggressor country)”, leaks of leaks on Telegram were associated with intelligence of the Russian Defense Ministry

The Soltsnepek channel, originally created to publish personal data of Ukrainian military personnel, according to Mandiant, after rebranding in 2023, also became a channel through which the GRU “leaks” data obtained as a result of its hacks. To create the illusion of virality, the publications of the People’s CyberArmy, Solntsepek and XakNet are reposted by a large network of Telegram channels, also created after the start of Russia (*aggressor country)’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine – in particular, as Mandiant notes, the Joker DPR channel. According to The Insider, Joker DNR was associated with the owners of the Killnet channel network before its rebranding in early 2024.
